Firstly I would make it clear that I did this ages ago but I wanted to contribute something to the Marmfish community :). Secondly... I seem to have ignored proportion in this sketch, something i am only coming to realise now. Please enjoy :)

(Bran, avert your eyes again ♥)

OK, THIS IS THE PLAN SO FAR! (some of this is just repeated from last time, but this kind of thing often stands repeating.)

WHAT - The theme is Cookies And Cookies! Wherein we talk about our delicious book cookies (bcookies? bookies?) and eat delicious baked goods, some of which I will be providing. And then lots of chatting, looking at things and probably some shopping, depending on where the day takes us! Possibly ice-skating in the park if people fancy it we can get in. Or I thought maybe we could go see the new Sherlock Holmes movie? It looks amazing!

WHERE - We're going to have it in the Science Museum for myriad excellent reasons. It is free! We can go see the exhibits! It has a large indoor area for us to picnic in! It has a bookshop and an IMAX!

The nearest tube station is South Kensington, which is on the District, Circle and Piccadilly lines. Say how you might be getting there and find yourself a travel buddy! Or if you find London confusing (You Are Not Alone) we can talk train station meet ups.

WHEN -We'll be meeting on the 28th December, a Monday and also a Bank Holiday, handily, at 1pm at the Main Entrance to the Science Museum - the one on Exhibition Road. I'll be the girl in the tee shirt that looks like my icon :D. If you don't have my number PM me and I'll send you it for contact and in case of emergencies etc., seeing as I seem to be nominated Responsible Person.

WHAT TO BRING - Food! Lots of picnic food. Or, a little picnic food if you prefer XD.
- English winter provisions - umbrellas, woolies etc.
- Cameras to record our deeds for Posterity.

[info]pigrescuer ) has kindly offered to let us stay at her house. So far I have me, Play and Han on the list to stay. Anyone else? Speak (Comment!) now or forever hold your peace. Details in comments.

So, fish that I know are coming - [info]hanelissar , [info]vandulocity , [info]playwithfyr , [info]altogetherisi , [info]evilangel101 and friend, [info]arkeiryn , [info]pigrescuer . Have I missed anyone?

If you've never come to a marmfish, or any sort of, meet up before, why not? We are awesome. I mean, as a small and friendly fandom we welcome everyone, and you can see all the fun people have had a previous meet ups here or here or here. If you want to come meet some of us regulars beforehand, we mostly hang out at the Marmfish Endless Chat here - the password is zombieboyfriend.

Anyway, even if you just lurk around the edges, or if you've come marmfishing many a time before, please comment on this post to let us know that you're coming, and I can't wait to see you!

My gift to you is a set of icons of quotations from "Nick's First Word." I only got a third of the way through the story (there are so many iconable quotations!) so if you would like an icon from later in the story, ask and thou shalt receive ^__^

Sixteen Icons. )

I would offer credits, but to be honest I went on tag:icons and used something from pretty much every post. Thank you all you awesome icon-makers! (With the larger ones I could incorporate bits of fanart! It would be amazing.)

Made for screen res 1280x800 - if yours is different, let me know, I would love to remake it for others if you like it.

So, back when I started this comm, I had the idea that it would be, you know, the place you go. As one does. If one is a fish, made out of marmalade. As one occasionally is.

But as I thought about it, it occurred to me that not everyone reads a book, loves it, and goes directly to livejournal in order to search out a comm to find people with whom to talk about it. And chat about it and draw about it and write fanfic about it and make songs about it and cupcakes, y'all. So, I thought I could make a website. This has long been my dream.

When I spoke to [info]orexisbella about it, it became her dream too. Or at least a waking fantasy. She even went so far as to get us this domain: marmaladefish.net.

If you go to marmaladefish.net, you'll see it has one thing on it. That is the gallery Trish made, to which I uploaded some photos. Here are some ideas for what we'd eventually want this website to have:

-A gallery. (photos of meet-ups, costumes, cupcakes . . . A place to host fish creations, such as vids and songs)
-An archive. (of fanfic and fanart)
-An endless chat. (much like we have already, but hosted by us, one that is fast and won't crash)
-A forum.
-A wiki
-Any suggestions?

We were going to do a poll of what people would want to see on a website, but. Um. Personally I want to see all this stuff, eventually. But already, it's a lot of stuff. Trish and I are of the opinion that we should start small, with a nice forum and a strong chat. Then we can build from there. So what we need are people willing to volunteer some time and skills to making this happen.

Now, my whole problem is I, uh, don't know anything about building a website. But I'm sure some of you know what you are doing. Are any of you interested in building this thing? Trish says we need--um--(*looks it up*)--people who can do web design, graphics, cms, and--er--"general software monkeywork" (I can totally do monkeywork. *Nods so helpfully, head falls off* Don't know anything about software, though). Please speak up if you want to help and have skills to offer.

But even if you're like me, and have no skills to offer, we want to hear your ideas. This post is for discussion and volunteering and brainstorming and helping. Maybe together we can find stuff for us website n00bs to do, and get a plan to go forward with the Dream Of A Fishbowl Home.
